What does the job entail?

As claims handler income you are responsible for the substantive and correct handling of claims on the income insurances within our own power of attorney. This includes sick leave, WGA-ERD, WIA supplementary products and ERD sickness benefit. As power of attorney of several insurers you have to deal with a diversity of conditions. You do a lot of research and liaise with employers, health & safety services, consultants and your own colleagues.

Your challenges as a claims handler income are:

  • Reviewing policy coverage and requesting information necessary to evaluate the claim from A to Z;
  • Liaise with various internal departments, external customers, intermediaries and insurers;
  • Calculating and determining the amount of compensation to be paid;
  • Handle and monitor the progress of cases;
  • Providing personalized and good service.

  • A travel allowance: Do you travel by car? Then you get €0.21 per km. Do you come walking or by bike? Then you get € 0.25 per km. Do you travel by public transport? Then your public transport costs (based on 2nd class travel) will be fully reimbursed;
  • A home office allowance (€2.15 per day) and a home office budget;
  • Staff discount on your insurance, mortgage, buying, selling and appraising your home.

You will work hybrid with Doetinchem as your location. The claims handling income department is a growing department that currently consists of sixteen colleagues. There is an informal working atmosphere with motivated and committed colleagues. What we ask of you.

You are service-oriented and you work very accurately. You have an eye for detail and spot even the smallest deviations and peculiarities. In addition:

  • At least a completed secondary vocational education (level 4);
  • Relevant work experience in a similar position;
  • Knowledge of social legislation and income insurance;
  • Are you in possession of Wft Basic and Wft Income diploma or willing to obtain them at short notice;
  • Do you enjoy figuring out complex issues and you know how to come up with solutions for them;
  • A good command of the Dutch language both verbally and in writing;
  • Do you have good social skills and can work in a team as well as independently.

You possess the following characteristics and competencies:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Customer-oriented and empathetic;
  • Accurate and independent;
  • Targeted and efficient.
