Does Purdue offer intramural sports? ›

Welcome to Purdue Intramural Sports!

On this website you can create teams and join rosters as well as view upcoming games and results. Summer registration will open in June, no IM Pass is required for summer sports.

Players can play on one single-gendered team (Men's Open/Fraternity/Men's Res Hall or Women's Open/Sorority or Grad/Fac/Staff) and one Co-Rec team within each sport. Flag Football is played with 7 player in single gendered leagues and 8 players in Co-Rec.

Boilermakers. The moniker for the University's athletics teams has become a popular reference for all things Purdue. A reporter first used the name in 1891 to describe the year's winning football team as “Burly Boiler Makers from Purdue.” The nickname quickly gained approval from students.

The Boilermakers have won a total of 12 conference championships in their history; eight Big Ten Conference titles; four Indiana Intercollegiate Athletic Association titles and one Big Ten West Division title.

The 2021 and 2022 seasons marked Purdue's best two-year stretch in the 21st century. That included a 17-10 record and a Big Ten West division title.

About the team. ​

Since the organization was founded in 1968, The Purdue Dance Team has displayed continuous spirit and enthusiasm for Purdue University Athletics and community events as a self-funded team. The Purdue Dance Team competes at The College Classic National Invitational in Orlando, FL.

For now, Purdue Indianapolis will not have sports teams. “IUPUI's athletic programs will be maintained solely and independently by Indiana University, and those student-athletes will represent the new IU Indianapolis,” Schultz said.
