  • Easy SEO Article Writing Basics For You

Are you writing articles for the Web? Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is fundamental — here are four tips which will help you to learn this skill.

Firstly, let’s look at why SEO is important: SEO helps your articles to be found. People looking for information use the Web search engines, which are basically indexing software.

Therefore, you need to include the search terms — the keywords — for which people are searching in your articles to ensure that the articles are found.

    1. Choose Your Primary Keyword With Care

If you’re writing Web articles for a buyer, you’ll usually be given a set of keywords to target (include) in your articles.

But what if you’re writing articles for yourself? In this case, you need to create your own keyword list. For each article, choose a primary keyword. (Only one.) You’ll include this keyword in the article title, as well as in the first paragraph of the article.

You can also choose a secondary keyword if you wish. However, once you’ve chosen your primary keyword, just focus on writing an excellent article.

    2. Write an Excellent Article — Be Original

You must also remember your article’s readers. So your article must not only be original, it should also provide useful information. While keywords are a primary tool of SEO, links are equally important. An article will only be linked to from other sites and blogs if the information is great.

Strive to make your articles “linkworthy”. The more links any article collects, the more likely it is to be found by searchers.

    3. Avoid Keyword Stuffing

As a Web writer, you’ll often work with buyers of your writing who are unfamiliar with the Web, and they may use terms like “keyword density”.

Years ago, when the search engines were less powerful than they are now, having keywords appear several times in an article was important. Nowadays, repeating keywords is more likely to get an article labelled as Web spam. Using a keyword too often is known as “keyword stuffing”: avoid it.

Use keywords naturally — once you’ve placed a keyword in an article title, and again in the first paragraph, it’s not necessary to repeat it again, unless you’re doing it naturally in the flow of writing.

    4. Great Keywords Lead to Great Articles: Keyword Ideas

Because keywords are so essential to ensuring that content is found on the Web, it’s vital to use those search terms which are used by Web searchers. Often they’re keywords you wouldn’t use yourself.

Therefore, when you’re writing articles for others, ask to see customers’ communications and questions, and also any lists the buyer has of search terms from the site’s Web logs.

These sources will often give you great keyword ideas for articles, and the better your keywords, the more effective your articles will be.

  • SEO Article Writing: How Can I Get A Higher Ranking For My Articles In Google?

I get the best questions from readers about doing article submissions, and this is one that I’ve received several times from different people.

They want to know how to get a consistently high search engine ranking and PageRank for their articles in Google, as they’ve noticed their articles can start off with a high ranking, but then they lose traction over time.

I’m glad to answer this question, as it gives me the chance to clear up a common misconception with article marketing–that it’s the articles themselves that you’re trying to get a high ranking for.

To clarify, what you’re really shooting for is a high ranking for your own website when people search for keywords associated with your site, rather than the articles themselves.

The articles are just a tool–you’re using your free reprint articles to get a higher ranking for your website. The articles themselves will not necessarily get or maintain a high ranking. If they do it’s wonderful, but really it’s icing on the cake and shouldn’t contribute to your measurement of your success.

By the way, in case you’re wondering why your articles start out strong in Google (and the other search engines) and then lose traction over time, it’s because of the freshness of the content.

This is why a newly released article may appear high in the rankings, at least to start with. Google wants to provide its users with the latest information, and once the article is no longer considered “fresh”, then content that’s been around a while and that’s based on those same keyword phrases can start to outrank it.

Incidentally, this works in your favor, because it shows that it’s not always new content that gets the high ranking. There are all sorts of indicators that Google evaluates when deciding which sites to rank and in what order, and the authority or usefulness of a site is a main consideration.

The older a web page is, the more time it has had to build authority and power. You very well may see your articles that have fallen down the rankings start to climb back up after a while, if the article has proven to be consistently useful to the readers.

Now, back to the original question–if the ranking of your article is not the definitive thing to look for, what is?

Here are two stats that are great for indicating how you’re doing in your article marketing campaign:

1 – Monitor the search engine ranking for your website for the keywords associated with your site.

That may sound technical, but really it’s pretty simple. Every web page is about a topic. Some are more focused than others, but hopefully if you have a website that you’re trying to market, you have a definite topic that your website is about.

Now, step into your potential readers’ shoes:

When they go to Google, what are they typing into the search box when they’re looking for information on your topic?

If your website is about dog training, you might discover that people are typing “how to train a dog” into Google’s search box. That could be one of your “keywords” or “keyword phrases”.

So, one of your first steps in marketing your website online is to compile a list of keywords for your website.

Once you’ve done that, then you would go to Google and type each keyword phrase into the search box, and see where your website is listed in the rankings. This is the ultimate gauge of success–your goal is for your website to be on page one of the results for your keyword terms, ideally appearing in the #1 position.

2 – Track your website traffic.

A related stat to the search engine ranking is your own website traffic. The reason why these two stats are related is that the higher your site appears in Google’s rankings, the more traffic will be coming to your website.

Remember, all of this takes time, and this stats tracking you’re doing is done just one time a month.

If you’re just starting to market your website, it can take a few months of consistent article submissions before you start to see any positive change in the search engines–that’s normal. But you’ll eventually see your site starting to climb up the rankings, sometimes making big jumps and other times either holding its position or making smaller jumps.

You’ll see how amazing it is that with article marketing you can actually influence Google’s rankings for your website, and that’s what will lead to the most dramatic results.

  • SEO Article Writing – How to Create an Article Blueprint – Part II

Let’s continue with the sample body of the article:

    1. B) Sprouts are organic. They contain no fumigants, pesticides or chemicals. You can trust that they are pure because they need no external additives, just water.

    C) Sprouts are very economical. Seeds can produce six to 15 times their weight. Seeds that yield 26 cents per pound is fantastic economy.

    D) Sprouts are available every single day of the week, every season of the year, from Alaska to Zimbabwe. These live foods can be enjoyed anywhere and at any time.

    E) Even a child can grow a weekly supply of sprouts. You just need to add water to the sprouts and keep them in a cool, warm place. Soil, tools and green fingers not required.

Two paragraphs or sentences as conclusion of your article. I’m going to use another example, this time, using article marketing as a topic.

“Discover the Secrets to Article Marketing – 5 Ways to Make Your Articles Captivating”.

    1) One or two paragraphs or sentences as introduction.

    2) Three or four supporting ideas for the body of your article:
    A)A plan.
    B)Your title.
    C)Giving away information.
    D)Here are some ideas.
    E)Vocabulary.

    3) One or two paragraphs or sentences as conclusion.

Now, your blueprint doesn’t have to be that long or in-depth. The examples above will suffice. Your article should be between 400 and 600 words in length, and your articles need to be tightly themed. You want to give your reader quality content, and at the same time, you want your reader to click through to your website or squeeze page after reading your article.

Your introductory paragraph is paramount. It needs to give your reader an indication of what the remainder of the article will be, and it needs to do this quickly and succinctly. By reading the introduction, your reader must be told what they are going to learn. Otherwise, there is no benefit in them reading further.

  • SEO Article Writing – Using Different Types of Keywords in Articles and Resource Boxes

You’ve done your keyword research and are trying to figure out how to use your keywords in your articles.

What are you supposed to do with the words in your list in respect to your articles?

Do you just use all of your keywords in the same way, or are there different types of keywords that have different functions in your article marketing campaign?

These are great questions, and when you understand the two different types of keywords and how they work, your article marketing strategy will be transformed.

The first type of keyword phrase is one you’re probably familiar with: the two word phrase that is very popular in your niche. This type of phrase is very competitive, meaning that many people are searching for it and many website owners are also targeting it as well. So, you have high demand and high supply.

It is more difficult to rank highly for these terms since there is so much competition. These shorter competitive terms will be part of your long term strategy for increasing your website’s ranking for those particular phrases.

You would use these special two word phrases in your resource boxes. With each article that you submit, create an HTML resource box that uses one of your main keyword phrases as anchor text. Do not use the same keyword for each article – switch it up. This is very important as hyperlinking the same phrase every time can look manipulative in Google’s eyes. Vary the key phrases that you use as anchor text in your resource box.

What about using keywords in the article title and the article body?

This is where the other type of keyword phrase comes in: the long tail phrase.

The long tail keyword phrase is three to five words long. It is usually very specific and has much less competition than the shorter phrases. Because it has less competition, it is easier to rank highly for this longer phrase.

You will use your long tail keyword phrases as a jumping off point for your articles and article titles. The idea with the long tail phrase is to get your article ranking highly for that phrase. If you consistently write articles based off of your long tail keywords, then you will eventually create enough content to completely cover your niche. So, whenever someone types in a longer search term related to your topic, one of your articles will pop up high in Google.

Each one of these key phrases has a job to do:

The shorter more competitive phrases play a long term role in getting a higher ranking for your website for those particular search terms. When you use that shorter phrase as anchor text in your resource box, you are sending a message to Google about what your website is about (rather than what the article is about). You increase your website traffic by getting a higher ranking for this popular term.

The importance of that link is highlighted by the context in which it is found. For example, if you’re writing about ballroom dancing, and then linking to a website on that same topic, this sends a powerful message to Google. That link is more significant than if you wrote about fishing and then linked to a site about ballroom dancing. A link from a web page on an unrelated topic would be out of context and wouldn’t make much sense to Google.

The longer phrases are more about the article itself and driving traffic to your site through the article. When the article ranks highly for that longer, less competitive key phrase, then people click through to read the article, and then click the link in your resource box.

Now you know that not all keywords are created equal! Some are meant to serve a long term purpose, while others work more in the short term. If you know the difference between the two types of keywords and how to use them in your articles, then you are much more likely to see the results that you’re hoping for.

  • SEO Article Writing – How to Write an Article in the Next 5 Minutes

Firstly you will need to write the title of your topic. Let’s say your niche is yoga and you know all there is to know about this niche. A quick and easy title might be: “Feel Totally Relaxed in 5 Minutes of Yoga”. Great title. So now you need to write the procedure that someone should take in order to become totally relaxed in five minutes flat.

You know this information inside and out. You teach this information all day in your yoga classes and now its time to get it down on paper. Here are the steps.

#1 Find a clock, timer or use your watch. You are going to have to write for a period of 5 minutes without stopping and using some kind of count down device is important.

#2 Begin to write. You must write for ten minutes flat without stopping on your chosen topic. The faster you write the better your result. Do not stop to make corrections. Do not stop to correct spelling mistakes. Just keep typing or writing. After 5 minutes you must stop.

#3 What you are likely to find is some of the best writing you have ever done. You see when you are put under pressure, the pressure of time, for some reason the mind works better and as a result your writing is of a much better quality.

#4 Once you have completed your work you can go back to it and correct any grammar, spelling or punctuation errors. Read through it at least once before you submit.

  • SEO Article Writing – 4 Keys to Great Article Writing

If you are a beginner to article writing, it will take some time for you to develop your writing skill. Your articles need to entice all readers to click through from the title and for them to read the complete article right to the end. This is where they will find a link to your website.

It is vitally important that they click on this link to your website as they will be given an opportunity to learn more about the products and services you have a available online. It will also give them the opportunity to sign up to your squeeze page.

Anyone can learn to create great articles. It is just a question of practice, practice, practice. When I first started to write articles, I believe they were terrible, but now my articles receive quite a few clicks which result in people signing up to my squeeze page.

You, too, can develop the art of creating good articles in a very short space of time. Don’t get me wrong. I am always continuously learning about article writing and other aspects of my internet business.

So how do you create great articles?

1 – It is very useful if, on a daily basis, you try to improve your writing skill. You can do this by reading information that is of particular interest to you and then try to write a brief outline of what you have learned. Once you have closed the book you can practice repeating what you have learned in your own words.

This will help you improve your writing skill, your vocabulary and your ability to write good, quality content in your articles.

2 – It is vitally important that you get your articles read and that your articles are full of informative copy. Write your article as if you were writing an e-book for which you expect to be paid.

It is vitally important that you educate your reader and not just use filler copy. Readers will assume that all your work is filler, and they will not want to read any more of your articles, which, in turn, means they will not click on to your website.

Your article is vitally important and is an opportunity to give your reader a sample of your paid-for information.

3 – It is important that you develop a style of writing that is comfortable and relaxed. Write as if you are writing to your favorite sister or brother and that you wish to convey some family gossip. Write in a relaxed and chatty fashion. This will help your reader to feel comfortable with your writing and for them to want to read more.

In turn, this will encourage them to click on to your site to further develop your relationship.

Let the reader know what to do next. Let them know that by clicking on to your link, they can achieve valuable information or free information.

Your resource box should contain a little bio information about you. It should contain a link to your site, and it should have some valuable information about your niche topic.

  • Web Content: Is SEO Article Writing Dead?

Article writing and search engine optimization (SEO) worked as a traffic-generation strategy for years. Eventually it was killed off by millions of articles which were created solely for the purposes of getting a click or two.

None of those many articles were written with readers in mind. They were written solely as a ploy. Once it became widely known that there was money to be made by getting traffic using Web content and tricks, companies jumped onto the bandwagon and “SEO articles” were dead.

What’s an article writer to do now?

Search engines are much smarter these days. However, content still needs to be found by readers, using search engines. This means that although you need to forget any bad habits you learned while writing old-style articles, you nevertheless need to remember the basics of SEO while writing.

The New Article Writing: Writing For Readers

If you’re writing articles today, you’re writing them for readers. You’re also keeping the basics of SEO in mind, so that your readers can find your content.

Here are some tips for writing quality articles which readers will love to read.

    1. Be Aware of Your Audience: What Information Are They Looking for?

These days, marketing is vital when you’re writing articles, and all marketing starts with the target audience in mind. This means that you need to think about who will read your content, and get to know them.

Luckily, this is easy to do. Go to where the audience hangs out: forums, Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter. What are they talking about? What’s important to them?

    2. Go Beyond Cut and Paste: Research Your Topic

If you’ve only ever written “SEO articles”, chances are you do all your research online. That’s a bad habit for many reasons. The primary reason is that you’ll rely on others to do your thinking for you.

All Web content writers are time-poor, and research takes time. You can immediately improve the quality of what you write by deciding that you’ll take time for research.

Tip: this means that you’ll need to charge more. Low-paying clients may ask for “quality”, but they have no idea of what quality is, or they would be prepared to pay for it. Cut them loose, and look for clients who know exactly what quality is, and will pay for it.

    3. Get Traffic Before Your Article Is Written

Build networks. Before you write your next quality, well-researched article, look for connections who will help you to promote the content.

However, as the saying goes, to get a friend, you need to be a friend. Build your network of connections before you need them, by commenting on blogs, linking to good articles, and writing guest posts.

Then, once you’ve written your next article, contact your connections and ask them what they think. They may link to your article, tweet it, or add a comment.

  • SEO Article Writing – How to Write an SEO Article Every Day to Generate Increased ROI

Most people assume that they cannot possibly write an article that would sufficiently represent their intentions concerning their websites. It is not true! As a matter of fact, it really is far away from the truth. Most people are fairly smart. They see a lot and they have a lot to say. Are you one of those who have a lot to say? Let’s keep this simple: If you have a lot to say, then you can write successful articles for submission on the Internet.

Here’s what you don’t have to have:

You don’t have to have a lot of talent for writing. Everyone has something to say. Everyone has expertise in one area or another. All you have to do is pretend that you are speaking to someone in person – where there is no stress – and then write that down.

Write naturally, like you would speak – literally word for word. If you practice enough, you will be able to type your thoughts out almost as fast as you can live them out in your mind.

Put yourself in the position of a teacher. You don’t want to scare your pupils away; you want to make them understand and grow in their knowledge. Be gentle, but don’t be afraid to instruct. People are reading your articles because they want to learn things that they do not presently know. Instruct your pupils!

Do not try to write about that which you do not know without a lot of research. Every article that you put your name on becomes a part of Internet history. These are permanent records that we speak of. You are going to want to establish and maintain a GREAT internet reputation. If you are going to write about a subject and then publish that work, please do the world a favor and give it your all. Writers are well-disciplined. They do not put out trash with intention.

Write with the intent to educate. Some of the greatest knowledge comes from those with no “formal” education. Have confidence in what you know to be true and share it with the world. Know this: The internet will always provide a new audience that craves just the kind of information that you alone can provide. It’s true!

You don’t have to have a lot of time:

Here’s a fact: This article has taken only thirteen minutes to create to this point. You see, when you write about something that you know well, then it will come easily for you. Can you see that it will take less than an hour to produce an effective article and even to submit it to a great submission site like ezine?

If you can write one article about a given topic, then you can write a million articles about the same topic. There are unlimited ways to describe the same concept. Each of these ways will be more impactful to certain individuals than to others. Express your expertise in various ways to maximize your global net exposure on the same topic. Become a leader in your field. Write articles and publish them on the internet for public review/criticism/praise.

Stop being afraid. Believe in yourself. Express your expertise to a knowledge-starved world! Article writing and submission is one powerful technique to generate loads of HOT, targeted traffic to your website. Your visitors will show up ready to part with their CASH because your articles pre-sold them sufficiently. Do it today! Do it now! Write an article and grow RICH!Submit article

For search engine optimization of your article, this description or sketch of your page should be between 100-150 characters and be concise, yet captivating enough so that viewers can get the essence of what your site’s purpose is and choose to enter. Writing keywords within the beginning of the article (whether it be the description or introductory paragraph) will be part of the reason you will have a higher ranking on the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page) when a viewer types in your keyword.

Once you begin, accommodate your keyword at least 3 times (or depending on your article’s length) within the body of your article. Furthermore, add your keyword in your conclusion since this is considered another powerful factor that will hike your ranking on the SERPs, thus increasing your number of viewersSubmit article
