Our team recently achieved two more #LoyalWingman program milestones with the Royal Australian Air Force. The aircraft is now sitting on its own landing gear, and the system is powered on for testing. #AirpowerTeamingMORE: https://lnkd.in/equZtR4

Interesting design challenge-weight on wheels. The UAV looks like a mean wingless spaceship. They must have faced some stability issues because of the major changes in weight distribution and how it flies. Can’t wait to see more reveals of this aircraft, just to know how it’ll fly!

Nearly five years ago, two X-wing Starfighters hovered over Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, for the opening of the Star Wars-themed Galaxy’s Edge attraction, Rise of the Resistance. The Starfighters were two costumed Boeing Cargo Air Vehicles, the first remotely piloted large electrical vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to be flown in support of a commercial operation in the United States. Now, the public can see one on display at The National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, gifted by Boeing and Walt Disney Imagineering R&D.
