You Have Been Warned! Do Not Buy A Whirlpool. We bought this Whirlpool washer from Lowes. It is a top loader without the agitator in it. The sales pitch was very good. One of the best washers on the market. It was less than 1 year old when it started getting out of balance. We would stop it and rearrange the clothes and start it back up. Over a few months it just got worse. Now, it will scare you when it gets out of balance. You cant set within 5 of it or it will run you over when it jumps, but you have to set close enough monitoring it or it will run out the door of the utility room after you. Now, I find out the Maytag has bought Whirlpool Corp. Not a good move for them. Whirlpool has mess its own name up, why would Maytag want any part of it? I dont think I will trust Maytag anymore either for fear it may be a Whirlpool.

We have the four-door model, french fridge part, drawer, and bottom freezer. Overall has been a good appliance. Icemaker burned out in third year. Icemaker replacement is very noisy, popping and groaning during drop-out and refill. Noise level otherwise is average.

Glad to know we are not alone in our disappointment with our Whirlpool French door refrigerator, but I am wondering what and when Whirlpool is going to do something about this. What a blow to their reputation. Goes to show things are not made as they used to be. We purchased our Whirlpool Gold French door (bottom freezer) in August of 2010. Here we are October 2012 and this is the third time it has stopped working. We have lost food, weekends waiting for repair people and cleaning up messes, and money. Same problem as others are reporting - the electronic board and controls. I just spent my Friday evening on the phone with Whirlpool, first explaining the problem to no result then waiting for a manager to call me back. Who (guess what?) never called. I finally called them and got the same script as the rest of you. It is outside the manufacturer warranty. Really, that is what you are giving me? Plus they will only look at it if we have a Whirlpool repair person come see it. When can they come? In 4 days! Ha, not likely. I am not giving this company another cent. We spent almost $2,000 on this fridge, all we are getting is 2, 3, 5 years? What a shame. We are fortunate enough to have had some space in our garage beer fridge for what I can save of the food. Our 7 years old, $300 Moffat fridge has been working like a charm. We will never again fall for the looks of a Whirlpool, let alone purchase another one of their appliances.

Called into Whirlpool to get clearance for a replacement and corporate says no to the replacement because that is normal. Thats BS! If that is normal DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL!! BTW... Bought in October 2014. Died December 2015. The previous Whirlpool microwave this unit replaced was 10 years old and carried a 5 year warranty on the magnetron. Imagine my dismay to find out this unit carried only a 1 year warranty on the magnetron. So 2 months past warranty expiration Im left with a dead unit. I performed elementary troubleshooting. The unit has a fuse on the 120 Volt input. But the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the fuse. So what SHOULD be a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. The fuse wasnt the problem - replacement fuses blew like popcorn. Fuse placement within the unit without regard for service considerations is a poor design.To their credit, Whirlpool agreed to cover the cost of repairs if I would pay for labor. I agreed. A tech came out and looked at the unit. He said that he would have to order a bunch of parts and that he would be back in contact by the end of the week. Three weeks went by. There was no call from the tech; my messages on his voicemail generated no response. So a couple of days later I purchased a replacement from a competing manufacturer.

My washer is a top load, energy and water efficient model. I am amazed at how little water it uses and how well it cleans. I do have two issues, the capacity looks huge but it will not take a queen size and double sheet set in the same load. It unbalances and then cant seem to get going again. The other issue is that you cant pause the wash and adjust things, you have to cancel and start over.

I have called the service center and they cant give any help because it was over the 1-year limited warranty. More than $500 is good for just 17 months usage. Would it be worth it to have Whirlpool appliances? Do think about it before you choose a Whirlpool refrigerator.

I should have known at that point - they had over 20 in stock instead of making it to order with a several week wait as the rep expected. I complained again (out of warranty for the refrigerator, but less than a year for the replacement door) and was given the too bad, so sad - next question routine. Now the freezer wont hold frozen food. If I turn up the dial, I end up with frozen lettuce, etc. So much for Whirlpool! Im not so much angry at this point as I am talky - at the grocery store to perfect strangers, at church, etc. Im disappointed that Consumers didnt respond - they still rate Whirlpool fairly high - makes me doubt Consumers, too.

Just bought the Whirlpool 3.5 cu ft, Top Load HE washer (model WTW4815EW), but of course, the sales person did not explain that HE meant LOW WATER USAGE. Wish I had done my homework. FIRST LOAD, clothes seem to be beaten to death, and must pour in detergent before you load clothes. So, Oxyclean detergent I always used in my regular (NOT HE) washer put a hole in one towel and discolored (faded out) the others. Also seems that the fast and hard agitator would not (logically) last very long. It seems to be working very hard. Im SO disappointed. Called Whirlpool to say I dont like it. They said to call Home Depot and see what they will do about an exchange. When I did, my sales person said that almost all the washers he sells are HE. I want the old type washer back that allows me to add more water if I want, change the cycle and water levels at my discretion, add detergent when I want to, and soak clothes if I wish.

I purchased a replacement gas range (whirlpool) approximately 3 years ago. Its not the top of the line, no bells or whistles such as a self-cleaning oven or such. I did love the three huge grates on top, one which is interchangeable with a flat grill. If it only worked it would be a decent range. The center oblong burner struggled to ignite in full from the beginning. Often, I light the thing with a grill lighter. But the thing that pisses me off more than anything is the F2 error that appears 70% of the time on the control panel when I am preheating the freaking oven. I am NOT replacing the control panel on a $400.00 range. What I have discovered is I can hit off my power at the main, not once, but 2-3xs and reset or over ride the damn thing. I read this F2 code is a common occurrence so I got to thinking, why? My conclusion is the heat from the oven is vented up & directly on the control board panel. Really now, whos bright idea was it to expose a control board to repeated temps of 350+? Hate this appliance. Next range will NOT be a new one, Im looking to replace this junk with something mom or grandma had that lasted decades, not a couple years. Shame on you Whirlpool for producing such low quality, disposable products. By the way, I just went through this with a new fridge so theres much to be desired with new appliances. Theyre junk, designed to fail.

My son purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer as a Christmas gift on 12-24-10 from Sears. It didnt wash the clothes properly and I would have to rewash them. Also, it would not spin the cloths properly and the top would take forever to unlock. Then in July, I called for repair because the water would not spin out at all. It took at least two weeks for them to come out. Another two weeks to get the part they ordered then to find out that they also needed another part that was not diagnosed in the first place. After another three weeks had gone by and having to go to the laundry to wash our clothes several times, it was finally fixed. I continued to have problems with the clothes not getting cleaned. How can this possibly be an energy efficient product when you have to do the load twice? I am so grateful to my son for the gift but am so dissatisfied with the product. I rate this product 1 out of 5 stars.

My Cabrio washing machine is a hunk of scrap metal after five years of lite use. Replaced the electronics first, then a year or so later replaced the motor. Now its leaking from the bottom. Repair man said it is not fixable. I did not buy a warranty because it was too expensive compared to the value of the washing machine. My recommendation to anyone buying a Whirlpool appliance is to buy the cheapest thing on the market, so that you can throw it away when it breaks because they are made to break so that they can sell you extended warranties.

The appliance sales person advised that we had to go through Whirlpool for repair on a brand new appliance. To date we have had to stay home 2 days and the range is still not working and third service call is now scheduled. A call to Whirlpool ended with them advising that we do not qualify for a replacement range, even though it never worked. We have been without an oven for 6 weeks now which is totally unacceptable. I would never buy another Whirlpool product or recommend them based on this current experience. We paid for a new product that never worked and they will not replace it. Hopefully they can repair it on the third visit. Unfortunately I have lost faith in this product and this company.

We purchased all major appliances from Whirlpool, to furnish our new home in August 2021. All appliances were white. The top of our gas range began discolouring immediately following the first use. The inside of the four corners immediately began to ware due to heat. I figured Id have time to put my claim in, and thought to see if it got worse. Once I finally had time to deal with the issue, I contacted them only to find out that we only had 30 days from the date of purchase (of which included 3 months of waiting for the products to arrive) to claim the issue, given that it was considered Cosmetic. Easy fix, since theyd simply have to change the top of the stove, but Whirlpool denied our claim. Do not purchase this product, unless youre looking for a sub-standard product and customer service.

It literally blew-off during the spin cycle and is hanging on by one hinge. My husband is disabled and I have had to go without using the washer for several days, waiting on a repair person not to mention the expense that will be incurred.This was a very potentially dangerous situation. My washer is barely older than one year. To add insult to injury, when I contacted the customer service department, I was told I would have to purchase and replace the lid or pay $299.00 for warranty insurance to have it covered because this is not considered a Quality Control issue.The service person has told me that both hinges and the lid will have to be ordered and replaced, leaving me without a washer for several more days. No one has been able to tell me why this happened. I fear this happening again after repair and do not feel safe with this washer. I would appreciate a response as soon as possible.

Two days ago I received a replacement for a new unit with the same brand and type purchased a week ago from Lowes which never cooled properly (never even froze water into ice), and the coolest it got was 45 to 50%, after three days, with the coldest settings. This replacement works great. Cools like it should. Freezer at 0 and refrigerator cabin at 35 degrees to 40. Lowes was right on top with their service and callbacks - I give them an A for customer service.

Within the past couple of weeks cracks are appearing everywhere including around the handle, the entire exterior frame as well as interior frame of the door. Neither my wife nor I slam the door or mishandle it to cause this damage. Called Whirlpool this week. Bottom line is that it would cost nearly as much to get a new door as to buy another microwave. This is an over the stove model. My previous microwave was GE and lasted over 15 years. Wont buy Whirlpool again.

Atlanta Gas Light Company showed up at my door Saturday Jan 16, 2016 citing they needed to do maintenance on our meter. 20 minutes later, he came in and said we had a leak. He checked all of the furnaces and water heater, then zeroed in on my brand new Whirlpool Range (purchased 11/11/15) indicating it had a faulty control valve. This faulty and dangerous range was sold to me by Lowes and manufactured by Whirlpool and we had unknowingly been living with a gas leak for 2 1/2 months! Its notable that Atlanta Gas Light sends our contractors only every 3 years to test for gas leaks. I shudder to think what would have happened had they not done this. Ill never buy another Whirlpool anything. Model Number: WFG320M0BB0.

I purchased a new home and then purchased 4 appliances, all Whirlpool Gold. In less than a year, the stoves electronic ignition and the microwave hood keypad went out. Since they were under warranty, a repairman replaced a bunch of parts and now they are working fine. One month after the refrigerator was out of warranty, the water line to the ice cube maker split about an inch and a half and water would spew out onto the hardwood floor under the unit. We were on vacation for all that month and didnt see any damage until one day there was a puddle in front of the refrigerator. When we pulled it out, we saw that the floor was ruined under the unit, the cabinet next to it black with mold and of course, the line had to be replaced. Whirlpool wasnt interested in the fact that the refrigerator had probably still been under warranty when the split occurred, only that we hadnt reported it before the warranty expired. Next to go was the water seal that goes on the inside of the door of the dishwasher. I was running it about a month after the refrigerator debacle and water came spewing out of the side. The seal had come out and nothing was stopping the water from exiting out the side of the door. Thats 4 for 4 in less than 15 months. I will never buy a Whirlpool product. They couldnt be any worse.

8 cu. ft. Cabrio® High-Efficiency Top Load Washer with Steam - I bought a new washer. It did a poor job rinsing and spinning dry. Whirlpool customer threatened me that a service charge may be charge if the repairman came out and found nothing wrong. After calling three times I ordered a repairman out. The repairman explained that only way to prevent soap residue on your clean clothes is to use the bulky and deep water options. Also dont use high spin or when it spins your clothes dry, it leaves them in a tangled mess that requires ironing to remove the wrinkles. This washer is not ready for the market and must be removed until they can perfect it. It cost me $200 to return and exchange this model for the Front Load Duet, which works excellent. Whirlpool should be ashamed to have ever put this machine on the market.

I purchased 4 whirlpool appliances at Leons in Mississauga. The side by side refrigerator was replaced within a few weeks. Got a new one and have had that one fixed at least 3 times already. The stove was serviced 3 times now, the washer broke so many times. They gave me a refund. The microwave broke as well. They told me it was not fixable, then I called Leons and they said it was too old. It was only 18 months old. Did not get anywhere with the microwave. Had to buy a new one. The only appliance I had that didnt break was the dryer. So far. The fridge now has broken inside, the crisper wont slide in and out at all. Cant be used. I bought a warranty on all the appliances, and even though I had a warranty, when a coin got stuck in the washing machine because the drum inside kept banging because it was in need of new struts, they still charged me 135.00 to fix it. Two to three weeks later a repairman came and put new shocks on it. Finally after having it repaired about 5-6 times in a year and half they gave me a refund at Leons and I went to pick out a new washing machine. Overall I have spent about 6-8 hours on the phone complaining and making appointments with Whirlpool Canada.

Designs are set to fail, liked the idea of no agitator, thinking can clean a lot clothes at once, boy was I wrong, heavy loads wont spin dry, forget sheets or blankets. The machine just stops, leaving everything soaked and you basically screwed, you can invoke a spin cycle but to help make rinse and spin out, sooo disappointed. Whats wrong with the designers of this product? They didnt try sheets to see if it would even work. I am far from over loading this too. Dont buy this.

Have replaced over the years all 20 water heaters. 19 of them were replaced with Whirlpool units bought at our local Lowes. It is my opinion that they are very unreliable. The tanks rust out in NO time. The electric units last just a little better than the gas units but still terrible. Of the 4 gas units so far I have had to replace 3 of them and the longest one lasted 6 years and 7 months!! One of them was just over 6 years and the other was 9 days away from warranty expiring. They replaced that one. If you have no other choice make sure to buy extended warranty if available. They just dont last!!

There was an adjustment that could be made but it required that Whirlpool had to do it. We made an appointment and was told it would cost $179 for the adjustment!! This for a refrigerator we had just purchased for several thousand dollars. The service person showed up and after working on the refrigerator he could not balance the doors. He blamed it on uneven floor, misaligned cabinets – anything he could say to shift the blame from Whirlpool. We called and complained again. They sent out another service person. He was just as useless as the first one. Told us to even out the doors we would need to shim the refrigerator which he would not do. Complained to Whirlpool with no results. Finally hired someone not affiliated with Whirlpool who was able to get the doors to be aligned. Never Never buy a Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid Appliance. They do not stand behind their products and do not care about their customers!!

Purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator July 29, 2015. Our first service call was August 4, 2015. The units freezer was frosting over, the basket rails were covered in frost, which made it hard to open. Items in freezer containers were covered in frost and labels unreadable. The interior light was frozen shut. Since the first service call we have had 8 service calls with multiple appliance dealers. No one can fix the frost issue. It just keeps recurring. Whirlpool did step up and extend our warranty for another year. In order to schedule a repair we have to call Whirlpool, a 45 minute phone call for an appliance company not of our choice to make the service call. The unit has been removed from our home for repair in dealers shop. Very inconvenient for us to have no refrigerator. Whirlpool has refused to replace the unit, choosing instead to patch-patch-patch one service call at a time. Whirlpool has enjoyed years of an excellent reputation. We are very disappointed. This is no longer true.

Now it needs repairs, it already cost me $89 just to have the tech look at it and he said it will cost $300 to $500 to fix it on top of the service call and now he informs me that it will take at the very least until February or March before he gets the part. I contacted Whirlpool and they told me there is nothing they can do, just to work the tech and I said so Im supposed to go without a fridge for 3 months and was told sorry for the inconvenience. So Im thinking they sell me their product, take my money, then brush me off when I ask for help. That is piss poor way to do business.

On 12/27/2013 I bought a Whirlpool hot water heater from Lowes Model NU50T122-403. On 12-13-2015 the pilot went out. When I called tech support on 12-14-2015 they gave number what were call centers or person who returned the calls. So I called a local plumber that I used before. He came out and told me that had to replace the pilot. On the 16th 2015 of Dec. that did not work and told us the heater needed to be replaced. The replacement will happen today I hope with little to no help from Whirlpool. I would advise you to do your homework before you buy a Whirlpool hot water heater.

Within a few months after I purchased my gas hotwater heater, I started having problems with it not wanting to stay lit. It was purchased in 2004. I see that this is an ongoing thing with Whirlpool. Every time I would call them, they would give me stupid answers on what it could be. One lady got hateful with me. I have replaced every part several times and Im having problems. About every two to three months, Im replacing thermal couple. As of right now, Ive been without hot water for eight days. I called and he told me about a trip button that is in the little white thing that has wires going to the thermal couple. I push in on it and then tried to start my heater and it worked. They have never offered to replace it or even give me a discount on a new one. No one should be having so much trouble out of your hotwater tank. This is not normal. These are defective and should be recalled. This company is ripping the consumers off and we need to stick together on this and do something about it. The ice tray in the door has no recessed tray ... so water and melting ice just follow down the front of the door and onto the floor. Two days after purchase we went back to Lowes to return this fridge ... but all the other refrigerators do not have a recessed ice tray. And since they are not plugged in ... who knows if they roar.

I purchased a brand new Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set not even 2 years prior. When I first started using it, I pulled shirts out of the wash after being ran through and found deodorant marks still on the inside of the shirts. I had to wash all of my loads on heavy soil and still had to run some loads through more than once. The wash machine quit working about 1 month ago, so I had a service man out to look at it. It ended up being the control panel and the part itself was going to cost me $300 and by the time I paid to have it repaired, the total cost was just under $400. The service man proceeded to tell me that Whirlpool had another company actually make the control panels for the Cabrio model and he has serviced several of these washers and when he would repair one part, another part would stop working. I was very upset and bought a new wash machine. I would like to add, I am a single mom with a 2 1/2 year old, so the wash machine was not used excessively in any way. I dont work outside so my clothes are never soiled heavily. Needless to say, my washer was not under warranty so Whirlpool couldnt do anything for me. A wash machine should last longer than less than 2 years. I would not recommend this model to anyone. And for Whirlpool to put their name on such a poor product is very disappointing since I have had good experiences with their products in the past.

The washer is constantly having an error and we can only wash clothes on the quick wash cycle or else it will shake like crazy, get an error, and stop. We had the washer a little over a year when we had someone come look at it. We were told there is something wrong with the load sensor and it was going to be $350 to fix it. As for the dryer it will dry for a little bit and completely stop (no error) and restart later on by itself. I have been a devoted Whirlpool customer but not after this. I thought it was only us having these problems but obviously not. They have discontinued this set. No recall... ridiculous.

I would not recommend this product at all, nor would I recommend the Whirlpool Company. This washer was over $1200.00. Within two weeks of purchase, I had to call a service repair company as I was immediately having issues with the washer not draining. Being a front loader, this machine required using the appropriate HE detergent. I followed the instructions, used the appropriate products and had nothing but continuous problems. It is a (lemon), and very frustrating, as it does not seem repairable. No serviceman could give an appropriate reason as to why the washer would not drain, nor could they figure out why. It didnt matter the size of the laundry load or the type of items...towels, jeans, or silky delicates...the washer failed at turning from the wash cycle to the drain cycle. It also leaked because of the lack of draining, and began building up a mold film and odor even though I consistently wiped it dry and left the door opened when not in use. I received no assistance from Whirlpool and was given the runaround and told I must be doing something incorrectly.

I purchased this machine, a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5640XW, from Lowes on Dec. 11, 2010. I just realized today, Dec. 24 2012, I had a 2-year extended warranty plan! Shame on me. At any rate the washing machine is very hard on clothing, tearing light fabrics and ruining my wifes bras. The clothes often come out with shreds of fabric from the other clothes in the washer. Oftentimes, it will not complete a cycle because it constantly goes out of balance. Today I paused the machine halfway through the wash cycle after the soak cycle to throw in some more laundry and start the cycle over. Half the clothes were still dry! Yes it may save water, but if you only use a cup of water for a load of clothes, how well can it clean? My wife has sensitive skin. So now we wash a load with extra rinse and normal soap then run the cycle again with no soap to get the soap residue rinsed out. Were saving big now! Yes, we are using HE detergent and the recommended amount. The machine is pure junk. I would love to see a class action suit against Whirlpool for selling such an inferior product. I know thats asking a lot in the land of no accountability we live in today, but one can always dream.

We replaced our dishwasher today with another brand. Many of the tines on the drying rack had rusted and broken off. We have been told to only purchase Nylon racks. I hope this is good advice. I must admit I had no trouble with the machine as far as cleaning my dishes. I just felt the racks should last longer than two years. Cost to replace racks was about the same as replacing the whole machine.

From the very beginning, I noticed the washer was not getting my familys clothes clean! If one of my children had gotten anything at all on their clothes, I would have to wash about 5 items of clothing to even have a chance to get it clean! Doing this did not always work! I usually send my really dirty clothes to my mother for her to wash in her old style washing machine with an actual agitator! They always came out clean when she washed them! Also, please do not attempt to wash comforters, sheets or any bedding in this washing machine. It does not clean them! When you take them out, they smell worse than when you washed them and have wet and dry spots all over! Oh, and they are still dirty! It is now May 8, 2013 and my washing machine does not wash or agitate anymore! I called Whirlpool and they can only offer 2 options. A repairman for Whirlpool in my area will come out for $129 to diagnose what is wrong. This price does not include parts or labor! My other option is a flat $300 where this will pay for everything along with a 1 year extended warranty. So with the $300 option, this will put me paying about $1,000 for my washing machine! This is ridiculous. My washing machine is only 2 years old. I should not have to be repairing already! Do not buy this washing machine. If you do, definitely purchase the extended warranty and be ready to use it!

The self-cleaning range (this phrase is a joke) has proven to be useless. I followed the cleaning direction according to the manufacturers direction even using the distilled water as indicated. The AquaLift self-clean did not clean the oven at all. It looks like I never turned the self-clean on. I gave up a great working GE self-cleaning oven that actually did clean itself. If I could afford to change this product for another brand I would do it in a heartbeat.

The end of cycle buzzer/beeper on both units is truly pathetic... you better be within 6 feet of the machine when the buzzer goes off or youll never hear it. Having worked for a blue big box home improvement center for 7 years installing appliances, I know all too well the rabbit hole Whirlpool is trying to push me down. All I want is to return the Maytag and go back to a Whirlpool, but the not so pleasant lady on the phone with Whirlpool said all they can do is send out a technician, no returns on appliances. My complaint is basically the same as all the others. Clothes do not come clean in my brand new Whirlpool washer. Ive had two other Whirlpools, and they were fine. This one, however, is a piece of junk. One of the main problems is that the washer is designed to use only lukewarm water, even on the hot setting, it does not use hot water. Another problem is too little water. Another irritating factor is the constant locking of the lid. Another problem is the constant starting and stopping of the agitator. This cannot be good for the motor. Im at the point of giving away my new washer which Ive had for exactly one week. This is a totally inferior product, and I feel that I have been really ripped off.

The fridge was only 12 days old when this occurred, imagine my shock and disappointment. Whirlpool Customer Service reps then sent me another one of their products Whirlpool Stainless Steel Brightener with instructions to clean it every day for 3 weeks and it would resolve the rust problem. It didnt resolve the rust problem. 2 repairmen from different companies have looked at the doors and shook their heads that Whirlpools own Customer Service department recommended a product for a fridge that rusted it and then they take no responsibility for it! Whirlpool knows these stainless steel fridges have the potential to rust. Its listed in their manual. Unfortunately, buyers arent given a copy of that manual to peruse BEFORE they buy the product. I would never have purchased this Whirlpool fridge had I seen that! I have now since read of other Whirlpool stainless steel fridges rusting.

And 5 weeks after first reporting my washer breakdown and lugging my familys laundry to a ‘local’ laundromat located miles away, I still have no imminent hope of seeing a repair. This is the second time the machine has broken down within 5 years. (Dont even ask me about my nightmare with LG dishwashers!) This time the wire harness is the culprit, a part which apparently has been redesigned & which has been on back order indefinitely - all Sears can tell me is it might be available sometime in October. Is it coming from overseas, I ask. No, Delaware, Ive been told. And it could be as long as into November. While they did tell me I could begin to pursue a replacement machine by the 21st day of non-use, I am so weary of the life energy this appliance nightmare is sapping from me simply to resolve this. And Sears and Whirlpool dont seem at all concerned with the massive amounts of junked appliances winding up in our collective landfill as we all tolerate this built-in obsolescence. Besides the obvious wear & tear issue on my wood floors in replacing the machine (the dryer positioned next to it on a pedestal in my cramped powder room/laundry room will also need to be reinstalled in order to get both to fit properly), what about the consummate waste of having these machines reach the end of their life expectancy after a mere 5 years? I wish Id never upgraded our appliances. So I approached the salesperson at Lowes and I was informed (after the fact) that the Cabrio top loaders had poor ratings due to the fact the basket only spun 30 times a minute whereas the front loaders spun 300 times a minute. So after 3 years Im forced to bite the bullet and purchase another washer. Ever since they purchased Maytag, their quality control has gone down the crapper. We bought a Whirlpool washer (Model # WTW4900BWO) and dryer (#WED4850BW) and within 2 months I was having problems with the washer AND dryer. Every time I washed a load of clothes, the clothes would have some yucky stuff hanging all over it. I called Whirlpool and was told to try setting the washer on 1 Rinse with Softener even though I never use a liquid softener. Their suggestion did solve the problem, but why doesnt a brand-new washer work the way its supposed to? A short time later, my dryer buzzer stopped working and the knob would not advance when set on the Energy Preferred setting. I called Whirlpool again and was told they did not have a service technician in the area where I lived and that it was not likely that one technician would come on the same day to service both machines. I asked why they would sell their products in an area where they were not willing to service them and they said that is the choice of the store that sold it to me. Then they told me there was a service technician available about 40 miles away and they would fax the order to them so they could contact me. The technician who came did look at both machines and was able to determine that the control panel needed replacing on the dryer, but was not able to do anything about the Rinse Option problem on the washer. He suggested that I continue to follow the recommendation of Whirlpool as long as it works. I can do that, but Im not happy that a new machine does not work the way its supposed to. He also recommended NOT using liquid laundry detergent or fabric softener in my washer because it contains animal fat and can build up and cause problems. Nowhere in the manual did it say that. He took the washer apart and showed me how it was already building up under the washer basket. I told the technician that my laundry has had an unpleasant odor to it when it comes out of the washer and even after it is dry. He said that might be because of the small amount of water that is used in the energy saving washer. If these problems cannot be resolved, I consider this washer to be a lemon and hope it will be replaced with a new one. If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a traditional washer. I liked the idea of conserving water, but not if my familys clothes stinks.

Also, a very bad film all over our clothing. I have just tonight contacted the Whirlpool company as I have made numerous complaints to the business where I bought it to no avail. The day after buying and using once, the store sent a repairman out and he said use it on delicate. I have done that with the same results. I bought my washer in December of 2011. I am hoping Whirlpool contacts me. If not, we can contact the state attorney generals office, Consumer Affairs and our main TV station to make complaints. I do not have photos as I did not know I would need them. I am giving Whirlpool a chance to respond in hopes that a remedy is available. Maybe as simple as replacing the agitation device.

The sensor isnt working. You arent able to adjust it yourself, its computerized. The water shuts off when you lift the lid so you cant rinse out the soap or fabric softener caps. I hate that. The lid locks when the rinse cycle starts so I have to unlock the lid to add fabric softener. Why lock the lid so soon, wait till its in spinning mode. Really really badly designed!!!! When I called, a helpful person at the Whirlpool warranty line told me it was because there was too much cold water being mixed into the hot water coming from the tank. I hung up... Called again and was told that they would be able to get someone in 2 weeks out to my house to check it. I told them that was not acceptable. I hung up... I called Lowes, where I bought it. The person on the other line finally, after more than 1 hour, was able to get a repair person out there within 2 days. I had to pay the fee to have the guy come look at my hot water tank, and tell me that he hated Whirlpools. He called Whirlpool, 3 times; he was hung up on 2 times. He explained what had happened was I had a hot water leak, that it probably it was overloaded, the thermostat control everything else was fine. However, that I had installed the heater myself not a professional. Therefore it was not up to NATIONAL code; therefore, Whirlpool refused to honor the warranty. So, short version, in order to get the tank repaired, I was supposed to spend an additional $300-$400 to bring the heater up to code for them to honor the warranty. What you ask made my heater out of code? It is outside in my utility room, and the flue was cut to fit and the OUTSIDE vent pipe was not above the roofline. It didnt matter that it is not in an enclosed space, that this was nothing to do with the reasoning the thermocouple went out.I simply turned up the heat, so far so good. Will I ever buy another Whirlpool? No. I have a Whirlpool fridge bought before the hot water tank situation. The ice maker went out within 6 months of purchase. When I called to have it repaired, the service guy stated he hates Whirlpool. The piece he had to replace was plastic that was replaced with a metal piece that should have been metal to begin with.

Cleaning the outside isnt difficult, I use Bar Keepers Friend on the SS and Wegmans on the flat top - for the back black splash Mrs. Meyers - so its 3 products but its also 3 minutes. I live alone and so use is minimal as well. Im not sure Id like it in a busy house with kids.

I dont even want to talk about the noise, I think it is expiring or on its last leg. They should fire the engineers that invented this model and bring back the other engineers that invented the one I had for such a long time, they far surpassed these space scientists that they now have. On August 8, I called Whirlpool, they sent me someone from Dinos appliances. This man tells me that there is nothing wrong with this machine and that he re-calibrated it. Whatever that means, it is still not wringing the clothes properly. There are only 2 people in my household, so my loads are not very large. I even tried this Drain & Spin cycle after the wash was completed and the clothes still came out too wet. I also have a Whirlpool Dryer and I will not replace it with the same brand. I also will never buy a Whirlpool product again and will make sure that I will share my experience with everyone I know.

Purchased front load washer & dryer 2009 - have had issues with the washer ever since. The last episode has taken 3 visits from repairman - they cant figure out what the problem is - wont finish a cycle (any of them) and locks up. Cant open the door without turning it off and then back on. But the load wont spin dry - leaves clothes wet. Already had the harness replaced a couple of years ago and now they replaced the flywheel (it was warped) thinking that was the problem. Nope. Still wont work & the repair company said they cant figure it out & neither can Whirlpool. Im very angry after reading all of these posts about Whirlpool. Not a happy customer. But what can you do???

My Whirlpool is reliable, however it does not have a soaking cycle which I would enjoy having. It also has an unbalancing problem when speeding if I attempt to wash heavy loads on the extra large load cycle. However, it responds very well on large loads for heavy washing. Shortly after I got it the timing had to be replaced, but no problems since then. Overall pound for pound for the dollar it is a good machine.

Absolutely read the reviews on this machine before deciding on a purchase. I have experienced with great frustration every issue addressed in other reviews. Clothes constantly have to be rewashed. The Quick cycle will leave your clothes in a puddle of water. But then there is no spin only cycle to correct that. I have purchased Whirlpool washers before with great satisfaction but this machine is not worth the money I paid for it and does not save me on water or electricity costs because of all the rewashing I have to do. Like others I am stuck with this machine until it dies. You lost me as a customer, Whirlpool.

I bought a Whirlpool French door, freezer drawer on bottom at Lowes 2 years ago for $2,600. The refrigerator needed a new motherboard within the first year and now that it is in the 2nd year, service is required again. The repairman ordered the part and came the 2nd time to replace the part upon receipt. Now it needs the 3rd part since it is still not working. I have a herniated disc in my neck and had to remove everything from the refrigerator and freezer to take downstairs to salvage our food. Now I have to go through the same thing again for the 3rd time after the additional part comes. This refrigerator is junk. I asked Lowes for a new replacement but of course was denied. Does anyone know a good lawyer for this type of situation? I never had a problem with an appliance like this.

Then, the paint on the face of the door started to bubble, peel, and now is rusting. Next, the heating element broke. Lastly, it started leaked on my wood floor causing damage. 2013-2014 I bought that Dishwasher, Micro-Hood, Stove, Refrigerator, Washer, and Dryer all Whirlpool. All the kitchen appliances were Whirlpool Gold. They would not fix their product. Offered a discount on a new one as if I will ever buy Whirlpool again.

This product deserves ZERO stars! I purchased a Cabrio washer - dryer in October, 2013. I have carefully followed the instructions for the washer. I am hugely distressed about the large amount of money I spent on a washer that is absolutely terrible, horrible, awful., no words can adequately express how bad this so-called washer is. The low-water washing has torn up all of my new towels in the matter of a couple of washes. It has completely ripped out the hems of the towels and pulled long ragged strings in the towel. And these were not cheap towels. I am mad at myself for not researching better before buying. I hope my complaint can save another consumer from the misery I am suffering because of this shameful product.

After almost 10 years, my Whirlpool top loader is now malfunctioning just like a lot of complaints here. It will not complete a wash because it keeps giving an off balance error at the spin cycle. I also had a coin get stuck in the discharge hose but fortunately it did not destroy the pump. I certainly dont want to sink any money into a repair especially because the techs dont seem to know how to fix the off balance problem. Im not much satisfied with my Whirlpool dryer either. It takes forever to dry a load.

Updated on 07/30/2021: On 5/4/21 a tree took out a neutral on the power line to my home and after inspection by my electrician, he said my Whirlpool refrigerator was done. Not even 1 year old. When attempting to get Whirlpool to replace the refrigerator, they said they have to try and repair it before considering any other options. As they do not cover damage by acts of God their warranty would not cover replacement. Mind you I paid around $1500 for my refrigerator and it was not even 1 year old. 5/17/21 (2 weeks from when the refrig got fried and I had to get and I had to purchase a used refrig until then) serviceman said he had to order parts. 6/1/21 - Motor-Cond $158.20, Fan Blade $13.97, CNTRL Elec $60 CORE [PI] $497.45 and Evap Fan Motor $183.91. Did not fix the problem and had to order more parts. 6/8/21 - Evap Fan Motor $183.91 (first one did not work), Rail $34.76. Service tech said to wait a bit before moving the frig back to make sure it was cooling properly. Finally moved it back on 7/7/21 and hooked up the water line. Few days later noticed water leaking from the top of the freezer door and a lot of water on my floor. Heard a funny sound and found water spurting from the top 2 corners of the freezer door. Called whirlpool warranty and was told they would contact me. Next I get a notice that I have a service appointment in August. Was able to get it moved with a follow up appointment with a part that was broken during the last repair for 7/28/21.7/28/21 - Fill tube heater for icemaker was open and frozen - now tech ordered Rail $34.76, Freezer Door $1,525.84 and Valve $124.23. 6-8 weeks custom order. So we also have to added 5 service calls to the cost - Approx. $500++. Total Replacement Parts = $2,758.81 with a final total cost to repair of $3258.81+ vs just replacing or reimbursing me for the appliance of approximately $1800. Someone needs to review their model because not only am I without a working refrig for 4-5 months, but the repairs cost them $1500 more and now they have a customer who will not longer invest in Whirlpool appliances because of bad business practices and inconvenience.Original: I purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator in July 2020. Earlier this month I had a tree pull down a power line and disconnect the neutral, allowing a full surge of power to go through my house. It fried the exhaust hood, literally melting the components. It also fried my refrigerator. The electrician who reconnected my home signed an affidavit that the refrigerator was permanently damaged due to the surge. When contacting Whirlpool to file a claim, I was on hold over an hour before getting a person. This happens every time you attempt to contact them, so patience is required. I was not able to get a service call on my refrigerator for 2 weeks (5/17/21) so that left me without a refrigerator. The service company showed up early and I had no choice but to leave my job or reschedule another 2 weeks out. The tech said he could only repair and made an attempt to contact Whirlpool to get the unit replaced and he was on hold for over 30 minutes. They declined and said because it was an act of God they could not replace it. I was already having issues with the unit before the surge of a constant defrost that was causing food to spoil due to melting then refreezing causing freezer burn. I also lost over $500 worth of food. They dont cover. It also caused the icemaker to constantly freeze up. Now it will take at least another 2 weeks for the replacement part to fix and a refrigerator is not something you can go without that long. I had a concern this would happen. When speaking with customer I service, they said they just needed the tech to confirm it was damaged to replace it. At this point he said he does not know if the piece (on 2 weeks backorder) will fix it. They can only tell after the fact. He said Whirlpool only fixes and does not replace, which is not what Home Depot informed me when inquiring into the warranty with Whirlpool. They said Power Surges are covered. So with this in mind, I would seriously consider buying from Whirlpool. Things break, situations happen and no one should have to go without a refrigerator for over a month because they may be able to fix it. Then there is the concern if something is melted/destroyed inside, if it could cause a fire in the future. Will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. They cant stand behind their products, the products are worthless. And yes, I am very upset. Again - just had Whirlpool tell me its not covered as it is an act of God! ARGH -

I purchased this monster in 2012 and after six years of enduring not enough water to actually wash the clothes for years, now the bearings have gone out making it sound like a jet engine is in my family room when it spins. After researching the bearing issue, I find it will cost $250 to $300 to have them replaced. Its also a common problem in this model even when the washer isnt at all worn out and old. That combined with the fact that my clothes dont smell clean and some blankets come out not even wet at all, Im done. I wont ever buy a water efficient washer again. Churning the dirty underwear around with a few cups of water isnt acceptable. NOTE: The bearings left months after the extended warranty expired. Just like clockwork. I purchased a much cheaper - center agitator - washer with a deep water option available. It was half the price of this top of the line Whirlpool Cabrio Washer.

Ive owned this Whirlpool, bottom freezer refrigerator for two and a half years now. About a year ago I began to notice water on the floor in front of it. I had the ice maker hooked up, which I never used, so I disconnected that. The problem continued. I discovered that the bottom of the freezer compartment would fill with ice and once full the next dose of water would flood the surrounding floor. I have cleared the ice out, on a weekly basis, but have still had the water flow onto my floor. Its a daily thing now as Ive gotten tired of pulling the unit out and removing the ice build-up on a weekly basis. My replacement refrigerator will not likely be a Whirlpool of any model.

I have the top load Whirlpool. Its very roomy for my covers, rugs & towels. It has a setting for me to just clean my washer or if I need to just rinse it. It has a cycle just for that. Or if I need a quick wash or a just cold water wash it has those cycle. When my cycles are done it makes a cute jingle sound to let me know its done.

My microwave is a Whirlpool WMC10511AW purchased in Jan 2014 for $150. It is very light weight and moves around when opening and closing the door. I have to use something behind it on the counter top to keep from moving backward and causing problems getting things in and out. In the first year we had problems with the door latch, but after a while it stopped being a problem. I am used to the stability of Amana Radarange so these very lightweight microwaves seem really cheap to me. It works fine at this point but it seems that these really inexpensive countertop microwaves have to be replaced about every 2-3 years where an Amana which costs a lot more lasts for around 20 years and are very stable not moving around all the time.

We did our research and wanted to buy a new washer and dryer with a trusted brand that would last. Our previous washer and dryer (different brand) lasted almost 20 years. Our new Whirlpool Duet HE Front Load washer only lasted about 2 years. The washer started making a terribly loud noise when spinning. We had a repair guy come out to evaluate the problem and provide an estimate for repairs. He said the drum, bearings, and truing was all one unit and the repairs would cost more than the washer. The factory warranty is only a year. BIG disappointment in Whirlpool.

The motor needs to be replaced after less than 2 years?! The customer service reps basically said sorry. I should have purchased the extended warranty. Is it not reasonable to trust that a Whirlpool washing machine motor should last more than 2 years.I am very unhappy and very angry that Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. The last customer service rep I spoke to suggested she could send one of their repairmen and replace the motor at a cost to me of $299.00. So, after less than 2 years, I am offered an amount to pay of about half the cost I paid less than 2 years ago for the brand new washing machine. My home is full of Whirlpool appliances. I have been a good and loyal customer for over 30 years. I am very angry and upset with Whirlpool. Please explain to me why it is not reasonable for me to trust and believe that a Whirlpool top loading machine that is well cared for and not abused in any fashion should last longer than 2 years? Is this being a loyal Whirlpool customer gets you, I should have purchased the extended warranty”? We are talking about a motor here, not a fabric or bleach dispenser that breaks. I purchased the Whirlpool touchscreen gas convection range and I do not recommend this product at all. The oven cannot operate without using the touchscreen to set the temperature and it has a mind of its own. Woke up in the middle of the night and the oven turned itself on to 550 broil. I called Whirlpool, they sent a tech out who replaced the touchscreen and the same problem is happening. Not engineered very well. The range would have been fine without the touchscreen, if only it had an old fashioned knob to set the temp. I do not recommend buying this appliance.

When I called Whirlpool service myself, Jessie was in technical support could have careless about my business and was dismissive about any issues or concerns I was having. Front Load Washing Machine, Model WFW97HEDBD0 - This is the worst appliance we ever owned. Purchased in 2015, multiple problems since! 1. Soap dispenser did not dispense and leaked down the front of washer... 4 service calls, control panel finally replaced, clothes not clean, leaking continued. Had to place soap into washer drum. 2. Pedestal drawer made grating noise, track off, drawer replaced, opened better but still made irritating noise. 3. Grease oozing from side of washer both sides. Decided to look in back of washer and OMG! A copious amount of grease is also beneath & behind the washer & dryer. I had to scrape with a metal spatula device to pick up and it took over 1.5 hours to remove & clean. We are lucky a FIRE did not start when using either machine. This machine was a LEMON from the beginning. In fact when we were having it serviced, I stated I wanted it replaced but was informed 2 visits were counted as 1 and did not qualify for further investigation. We cannot rid ourselves of this machine fast enough after the last issue. New washer coming tomorrow, not a WHIRLPOOL! New machine is LG WITH 10 year warranty on motor.

I bought this dishwasher and less than a week later the pump isnt working and stagnant water is sitting in the machine. It took Whirlpool 3 weeks to replace the machine and they sent over another defective machine. This time it lasted less than 2 days. The Whirlpool customer reps are rude and vindictive and antagonize the customer with their lack of service. Called corporate office with no help from Cust. Service and was told to leave a message with the operator and await a callback. With this fiasco I wouldnt buy another Whirlpool or Maytag product again. BTW. Im still awaiting my callback from the corporate office... Im not holding my breath. I called the company that I bought the dishwasher from to see if they can help me unload this machine and get a different brand...

We found out the part ranged from $350-$400!! Plus service installation! The one year warranty of course ran out but I think this is an outrage to sell an appliance that has such a poor electronic part. I have read a few similar complaints as this is also a Frigidaire model as well.

Finally, they agreed to replace a new one. Now I still have the same problem with a newer one which they replaced it over a year ago (including fixing and placing time). Just called to the Whirlpool company today for fixing or replacing, spoke to rep Sara, she said that it’s no longer under warranty because it’s more than 1 year. I told her that because the company didn’t replace right away; therefore, it has been more than 1 year; but from the time they replaced it, it hasn’t been 1 year. Ill never buy any Whirlpool products again.

We bought the Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot. The ice maker does not work. We get 2 cups of ice a day. Home Depot Told us we should get 8 to 10 pounds of ice a day. We call a repair service and they said we should get 2 pounds of ice a day. Still getting 2 cups a day. Call again and now they said we should get 64 cube of ice a day. So now Home Depot has us calling Whirlpool instead of them. Now we will have another repair company coming out. Waiting to see what they have to say.Very disappointed with Whirlpool for not backing their refrigerator. And don’t buy from Home Depot. You can’t return if you buy it. And I have a warranty on it and they have a lemon law 3 repair calls for the same thing and they will take it back. Not true. I will be calling once a week for 5 years until they get me some ice. We just remodeled our kitchen and bought a Whirlpool kitchen suite in May of 2016. The refrigerator is absolutely terrible. I have had a repairman come out and fix the same repair/problem 5 times, a sheet of ice forms beneath the vegetable drawer (We have only owned the refrigerator for 5 months). Each time the repair person has come out it costs me a day of work due to having to wait all day for the repair service that Whirlpool hires out, well be there between 9am and 4pm. This morning I decided to check to see if the sheet of ice is forming again, it is. So I call Whirlpool again.Again, I call Whirlpool and ask if I can just get a new unit; 5 repairs in 5 months on a brand new refrigerator. The reply I get from Whirlpool is always well send someone out to fix it. The unit has to be deemed irreparable or a part has to be replaced multiple times. No parts are being replaced... no one knows how to fix it. I dont understand why a large company like Whirlpool would want people to write bad reviews for their products and customer service. Im extremely irritated with how I have been treated. I just want a refrigerator that works!! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!
